Over the past decade, online courses and other Edtech businesses have flourished. They have also garnered a significant boost in their valuation and earnings. But despite that standard of humanity has not seen any significant improvements.

Before moving forward with the solution, we should understand the importance of building humanity skills. As a student of life (or any other skills) focusing on building human skills is far more important than perfecting only hard skills.

And to understand this better, let me share with you what is happening in the finance industry.

We all know that a career in finance has high-paying jobs and demands the utmost intelligence.

Now there is one big shift happening in this industry. As many prominent investors are now investing in those companies that are ESG aligned. ESG stands for Environmental, social, and governance. These investors are doing this because they understand the market/consumer sentiment.

They know that people today are choosing to buy from companies that are working on improving their ESG issues.

Companies also know this. This is why they are becoming more and more ESG centric, they had to or they will be wiped out in market correction.

Not only in finance but in marketing also, where you are required to turn a commodity into a brand, having human skills help.

These are some small examples that indicate that to flourish and thrive in the market individuals and companies should focus on human skills.

Now that you have realized the importance of this skill, you must start working on it. And for that, you have to understand what are the objectives of education.

Understand the objectives of education:

To get humanity skills, you don’t need to follow a set path or a college degree. But what you will need is tons of patience and an understanding of education’s 4 core objectives.

They will guide you on what area you have to work on.

Become wise from the previous generation:

What today’s scientists are saying about memory and attention is something my mom used to tell me when I was a child, and I used to take her advice lightly. Similarly, our ancestors have also delved deeper into many areas of life mystery. And they have offered us solutions too. And to find them we have to look back in history.

Reading about history tells us a lot. We find out how great leaders and kings won battles. This will guide us on how we can also do the same (life is a war, and in every war, principles remain the same).

Improve your concentration:

For you to learn anything you need the power of concentration. There is no shortcut to it, all you have to do is work hard in improving it. There is some common method for improving concentration like reading and meditation, and they work wonderfully.

Having good concentration skills not directly helps you in your humanitarian skills. But in a way good concentration allows you to direct your energy on whatever you want to do and learn.

Build your moral strength:

Don’t worry you don’t have to go back to your school and take a moral science class. All you have to do is start reading books that will uplift your thinking and mind. And roam around with people who are good human beings.

You can do this by reading books that uplift your mind and your thinking. A person that has good morals, has a high chance of achieving success in the long run than a person who has none of it.

Teach Others, what you have learned:

People who keep their secrets and knowledge to themselves are often the one that lacks it. The more you impart and share knowledge with others (it doesn’t mean giving unnecessary advice) the more you will learn.

Start sharing what you have learned in blogs or write on Medium. You can start a Youtube channel too. Sharing is the best way to learn and build your humanity skills.

These are the main objectives of education that one should thrive to achieve to acquire knowledge. Which in turn will make you a better human being.
